About Peco 

  

The name Peco is the registered trademark for Pritchard Patent Product Co. Ltd. and Peco Publications and Publicity Ltd, both of which are devoted to the hobby of model railways.

The forward looking family business started trading in 1946 and still today virtually all production is undertaken at its headquarters in Beer. Likewise the magazines Railway Modeller and Continental Modeller are edited and put together by our enthusiastic team each month within the same building.

The Peco headquarters and production area at Beer in South West England

The offices and production area stands high on the hillside offering wonderful views of Beer village and the coast beyond. It is therefore quite natural that many railway enthusiasts visit the home of Peco and the site has become one of the country's most important tourist attractions, Pecorama. The exhibition of model railways, the Beer Heights Light Railway and the extensive gardens are all there to inspire and enjoy.

The Peco Group now also includes the companies:

  • Ratio Plastic Models in Buckfastleigh, Devon (manufacturers of trackside building kits, accessories and rolling stock),
  • Wills Kits (popular for their Scenic Series of building kits), and
  • K & M TREES (with various sizes and types of tree which are suitable for railway modelling, war gaming and general modelling).

In addition to these products, we are also distributors for a number of selected high-quality modelling products produced by other companies. These are:

  • Metcalfe Models - a comprehensive range of pre-cut card kits
  • Harburn Hamlet - stone-cast resin models of street furniture, scenic items and wagon loads.
  • Parkside-Dundas - Injection moulded plastic wagon kits for scales from 2mm to 7mm.
  • Tracksetta - templates for accurate laying of flexible track
  • Branchlines - O-16.5 Narrow Gauge Loco chassis & railcar kits
  • Romford Models - OO/HO & EM Loco & Rolling Stock Wheels, motors & components.
  • Midland Counties Publications - prototype railway books, useful as reference sources for the modeller.
