To commemorate 50 years of the Trans Europ Express (TEE) services in Z, there will be two limited editions: first is the VT115 diesel train set representing the Saphir service which ran between Frankfurt and Brussels from 1971 to 1978.

This comes in two packs, the first containing the power cars plus one compartment coach and the dining car, the second with another compartment coach, a saloon coach, and the bar car to complete the train (below left). Both power cars are driven, by five-pole motors.

The second special set consists of the DB E1012 Bo-Bo Bügelfalte electric in red & beige hauling five coaches, the Av4üm-62 compartment first, AD4üm62 observation car, and WR4üm-62 diner in original Rheinpfeil blue & beige plus compartment coach Avüm and saloon Apüm in TEE red & beige, as the train might have looked in 1967, in transition between Epochs III and IV (above right).
