Loads
Heico
Heico have been acquired to be Hornby’s office in Germany. Their own products
are now included in the main Hornby International catalogue,
but the range has been cut back to just loads (structures
and scenic items have been discarded), and these are
mostly in HO with a few for N.
Some of the loads are general items that can be placed on flat wagons, others,
where the fit is critical, are made exactly for specific
wagon types from particular manufacturers. The loads
suit wagons from different periods, and where appropriate
are secured with timber protection. Many are branded
to identify the maker of the product represented.
There are no additions to the range this year.
Ladegüter Bauer
Ladegüter Bauer continue to develop their range of realistic loads, mostly in HO but with a
few in N. Most are designed to be placed on any suitably
dimensioned wagon. Two themes dominate a modest programme
this year - new steel products, with wood packing,
and scrap metal of various kinds.
For long wheelbase four-wheel flats or lowsides with side stakes - stone slabs
on wooden frames (above), three large new pipe
sections with flanges (below), industrial scrap, large
old scrap pipe, small scrap pipes with flanges.

For four-wheel open wagons - withdrawn industrial tanks, sundry scrap tanks
and containers, scrap motors, old tyres.
For bogie opens - scrap lattice masts (below).

For heavy duty bogie flats - kinked scrap pipe with flanges (below), set of
three steel slabs.

For bogie flats - long iron pipes (below).

An ‘industrial dismantling’ set is also proposed, of four varied
loads, two to suit four-wheel opens and two to suit heavy-duty
bogie flats: it will be offered as loads only or on suitable,
weathered, wagons.
As scenic accessories, there are two variations of a withdrawn steel-bodied
four-wheel open wagon, off its wheels and on wood blocks
being used to collect scrap metal, one general and one
more specifically for a loco shed.
In HOe, Bauer offer timber loads for the Roco ÖBB bogie wagons: rusty pipes
and rough long logs for the lowside with side stakes
(below), and short log pieces and spent ballast
for the highside open.

New in N are iron pipes and steel girders for bogie opens with side stakes,
and stone slabs on a wooden frame for a heavy duty bogie
flat.
