HO Scale - Page 4
L.S.Models
The new leaflet sets out the forthcoming
programme in HO and N with most proposals illustrated
by prototype pictures, but some samples were on show.
In collaboration with RailTop-Modell they
offer the RAm/DE-IV TEE diesel train (above) as a four-car
set in red & cream
with a choice of two Swiss and two Dutch numbers
for Epoch IIIb/IVa plus the later Ontario Northlander
blue & yellow.
They are
also working with RailTop on the RAe/RABe TEE electric
train, as a six-car set, to scale length, in both
original Epoch IIIb/IV red & cream and the later
Epoch IV/V grey. According to the RailTop leaflet,
it is not due until 2008.
Samples
were shown of projects announced last year - e.g.
the SNCF Y7100/7500 four-wheel diesel shunter (in
both green and ‘Arzens’ orange,
with a choice of numbers, above), and the SNCF
CC40100 multi-voltage electric (below), with three
numbers.

The BB36000 ‘Astride’ Bo-Bo electric was also shown in original
grey & red but with the latest SNCF ‘carmillon’ logo
and as a BB436000 in green & grey with the ‘cap’ logo.

Early samples of the announced EAD X4500 autorail and XR8600 trailer were noted
(above).
In collaboration with A.C.M.E., they are working on the ALn (Breda) diesel railcar, with a choice of two names/numbers.

The Corail Vtu stock selection (above) continues to expand with sets of two
B10tu seconds and a Gril Express, with either
framed and ‘noodle’ logos, for
Epoch IV; B10tu seconds and A10tu firsts are available
separately, in both finishes, to extend the train.
The Vu variant is noted as future project, along with the Pba stainless steel
stock with ‘Trans Europ Express’ red cantrails.
Noted as a future project is the distinctive French design of bogie mineral
hopper, classified Fal.
In parallel with the French CC40100 electric, there will also be a Belgian series
18, and they are also working on the SNCB/NMBS series
15 Bo-Bo electric.
Noted as a future project is modern M6 double-deck stock.

Also shown was sample of a new project, a linked pair of double-deck car transporters
(above); the first version is to be B Cargo
registered.
For a new name, Euro Passion Models, L.S.Models have produced an exclusive special edition of the SNCF standard
four-wheel type Uk fourgon (guards/brake van) (below)
which is offered in four different finishes.

For Jocadis, L.S.Models have produced
the latest in their range of Belgian electric multiple
units, a series of 06 two-car set from the final 1979/80
built batch in the latest 'new look' livery (below).

For the NS, the type WR buffet (ex Gril-Express) coach is offered in all four
names (‘Adagio’, ‘Andante’, ‘Allegro’,
and ‘Allegretto’).
For the German scene, the LHB prototype stainless steel ribbed side coaches
are to be sold in pairs of ABvmz composite plus
Bvmz second, in a choice of three Epoch IV liveries
- with orange and blue window bands (according to
class) with either bicoloured or single colour doors,
and in standard blue & beige.
The Bcvmh couchette seconds come in packs of two in ‘TUI Ferien Express’ orange
and cream, for Epoch IV, either with brown roof or
cream roof and no DB logo. The brown roof example
will also be paired with a WGtmh diner. Also planned
are packs of two Bcvmz in three Epoch V finishes -
DBAG ‘AutoZug’ red & white, DBAG ‘NachtZug’ red & white,
or ‘Jan Kiepura’ blue & white. Two City
Night Line twin packs are also proposed - the first
has one Bcvmz with the large moon logo and one without,
the second offers one with the moon logo and one with ‘reisen
statt fliegen’ lettering. The same coach also
appears as a WLAB composite sleeper in Russian blue & red
(with choice of two numbers), Belarus light blue with
white waist band, and Polish blue & white with ‘Jan
Kiepura’ markings. (EuroNight Jan Kiepuraruns
from Frankfurt via Koblenz and Hannover to Warsaw,
and can convey through coaches for Moscow.)
The programme of Swiss and Austrian stock is, like that of L.S.Models, mostly
represented by prototype pictures, but a number
of samples were shown.
The
RAm DE-IV four-car diesel train sets, used for the
TEE Edelweiss service (Zürich - Brussels Amsterdam)
in Epoch IIIb/IV form is being made in partnership
with L.S.Models, as noted above. Delivery is now
due this year.
With
the Italian A.C.M.E. company (see below), RailTop
offer the modern SBB Cargo Re482 (for running into
Germany) and Re484 (for running into Italy) Bo-Bo
electrics (= BR1852), and advance samples were on
show (below). A ‘Crossrail’ black
livery version is also proposed, like the blue & red
machines with a choice of two numbers.
Two
interesting new loco projects are announced - the SBB Bm6/6 centre-cab diesel, in Epoch IV brown, with a choice of two numbers;
and the ÖBB 1063 Bo-Bo centre-cab electric,
with Epoch V markings and a choice of three numbers;
the later class 1163 is also under consideration.
The locos have a plastic body, cast metal chassis, five-pole Mashima motor,
two flywheels, cardan shaft drive to both bogies,
eight-pole decoder socket, LED lighting, and built-in
switchable capability for use on either DC or AC.

There will be a further A8tu stainless steel saloon coach to extend the TEE
Cisalpin set and a type P stainless steel sleeper
(above) as leased around 1987 by HUPAC for the ‘Rollende
Autobahn’ workings (both in conjunction
with L.S.Models).
A new version of the SBB driving trailer is planned in original ABt form in
green livery but with a red front. These models
have working white/red head and tail lights, with
a decoder socket for optional digital operation.

A new version of the Z4 500 series bogie post van is slated in Epoch V white
livery with ‘Die Post’ markings to
join the recently released original green (above)
and later yellow (below) liveries.

There is no sign yet of the permanently coupled pairs of four-wheel baggage
vans built in 1962/3 and used for sorting.
A new proposal is a four-wheel van with oil-fired steam heating equipment, with
two Epoch III number and as preserved.
Under consideration for 2008 is PTT Z4i bogie post van with clerestory roof.
On the freight side, versions of the Fcs-y four-wheel hopper wagon in brown
livery (for ballast, empty), and the Tds lidded
variant, used for salt, in grey, are still noted
as new.
For Austria, to match the UIC-X coaches, the 1959-built type Dmsz bogie baggage
van is planned. The initial release (with a choice
of two numbers) will be in Epoch V two-tone grey
with red doors; it will also be offered in Epoch
IV orange in a twin pack with a second class coach.
Models of the 1951-built first class coaches will be paired with the UIC-X second
in Epoch IV twin packs, in both Eurofima orange
and ‘jaffa’ liveries.
The bogie post vans of 1972 are also still expected, both in final Epoch V condition
and now also in Epoch IV ‘jaffa’ orange
and cream, both with a choice of two numbers.
The same applies to the 1966-built RIC version of the dining car, which is still
awaited in final condition c.1998 in red & cream,
with a choice of two numbers, and as a now privately
operated blue & ivory version.

New versions of the ÖBB ‘air-tight’ EuroCity coaches for 200km/h
working, the Amz compartment first, Bmz compartment
second, and WRmz restaurant car (above) on
MD 522 bogies plus the BDmpsz saloon second/baggage
on SGP type 300 bogies, are scheduled in the red & grey
livery.

Joining the selection of upgraded variants in the latest two-tone grey & red
livery is the WRmz137 restaurant car (above)
and a first/baggage on MD522 bogies plus a first
with business compartments on SGP300 bogies.
Two ex-City Night Line double-deck sleepers, composite and second, will get ÖBB
markings, and joining the mansard-roofed modular
stock is a Bcmz couchette second in grey & purple
with a choice of two numbers, running on SGP400
bogies which are cleared for 200km/h.
New to the list are the DR 1978-built UIC type Y sleeper and dining car in ‘Mitropa’ red,
each with a choice of two numbers.
The WRmz137 ‘Bord Restaurant’, with and without pantograph, is planned
in Epoch IV banded red livery, each type with a
choice of two numbers.

There will be further versions of the DB/DSG WLAs4üge50 first class skirted
sleeper with new numbers, and in original Epoch
III form on Görlitz (rather than Minden Deutz
33) bogies, with a choice of running numbers (above)
and as preserved (below); a US Army version
is also planned. The later version will also be
used in an Epoch IV ‘Apfelpfeil’ twin
pack of one maroon and one yellow.

The proposed City Night Line twin packs -WLABm/Bvcmz, WLBm/WLBm, WLABm/Bvcbmz
(disabled facilities), and WLBDm (with cycle area)/WRm
(bar), produced in conjunction with L.S.Models again
- are still noted as new.
Likewise the DBAG WLABmz173.1 composite sleeper and WRmbz138.1 ‘BordBistro’ in Epoch V traffic red and white livery, as used on
the ‘NachtZug’ and ‘AutoZug’ workings.
A second number for each joins the list, as does
a twin pack of WLABm composite and WLBm second double-deck
sleepers.
Further
versions of the EuroCity stock are still proposed,
in the current liveries of the Czech (CD), Croatian
(HZ), and Slovenian (SZ) railways, which can now
be seen on through services in parts of Austria
and Germany. The Czech version is a set of four
(first, two seconds, and diner) depicting the
José Plecnik service
(Prague - Linz - Graz -Ljubljana); the Croatian
is a similar pack representing the Mimaratrain
(Zagreb - Ljubljana - Salzburg -München
- Leipzig - Berlin), while for Slovenian there
are individual models of the first (with choice
of two numbers) and the diner (coded WReemlt).
The Czech selection is further augmented with a 1978-built UIC type Y sleeper
in Epoch IV CSD grey (two numbers) and the WLABmz
sleeper in CD Epoch V finish, with a choice of
three numbers/names.
All rolling stock comes with brass bearings let into the back of the moulded
plastic axleboxes for optimum running.
A.C.M.E.
This Italian concern shared the stand with L.S.Models and RailTop-Modell.

Working
with RailTop, A.C.M.E. have produced the modern
SBB Re482 Bo-Bo electric, and under their own
banner offer two versions of the German ‘parent’ BR1852,
with either initial ‘Railion’ or
later ‘Railion DB Logistics’ markings
(above). Pantographs are Sommerfeldt, and
power comes from a five-pole Mashima motor;
twin flywheels, all-wheel drive and pickup,
LED lighting, and a decoder socket complete
the specification.
A
version as a RENFE 253 in the ‘Mercanias’ grey
and white livery is also planned, though illustrated
only with a prototype picture.
Also
announced and similarly represented is the Bombardier
TRAXX P160 Bo-Bo diesel to be supplied to the ‘Metronom’ operators
in north Germany as BR246.

However,
the Aln442-448 Breda-built diesel set for the
TEE Montcenis and Lemano services is making progress
and samples were shown (above).

Also on show was
an advance sample of the FS E.656 Bo-Bo-Bo electric
(above) which is to be made in four period/detail
variants - original Epoch IV, Epoch Va, Epoch
V in XMPR livery, and Epoch V XMPR ‘Cargo’ (as
E.655), with features such as the bogie-mounted
sandboxes and cast FS insignia properly present
or not, along with front rain strip, shock absorbers,
snowploughs, and buffer heads.
Other previously announced FS projects, including the ETR500 ‘Eurostar’ multi-voltage
electric train set and the D342 Bo-Bo diesel in
three Epoch III and IV versions were not apparent,
and there was no sign of the pre-series E402A
prototypes, which have quite different body shell
and running gear from the production examples
already modelled.
As to passenger stock, there will be two new sets of three to represent the
current daily Euronight 226/227 Palatinoservice
between Rome and Paris the first has two type
X couchettes on Minden-Deutz bogies and a restaurant
car, the second two type MU sleepers and one couchette
on Fiat bogies, all in the new ‘Artesia’ livery.
Four type Z coaches (one first, two seconds, and a second with wheelchair access
and a telephone compartment) all in two-tone grey
make a pack that represents the Peloritano intercity
service between Rome and Syracuse in the 1990s.
The set comes with a DVD showing the train boarding
the ferry between Villa S.Giovanni and Messina,
and is exclusively available from Talforniture
Modellismo, a retailer in Italy.
There will be new numbers for the type Z first and second available separately,
but as limited editions.

The 1956 AcBcz64300 composite and Bcz33900 second class couchettes (above)
are offered in Epoch IV grey on FS 24Au bogies,
while the 1955 Az20500 first appears in the
castano & isabella
two-tone brown of Epoch III (below).

Another set will represent the Epoch III Skandinavien - Italia Expressrunning
between Rome and Copenhagen - it includes one
Italian type 23000 first, one type 45000 second,
and one type 64000 couchette composite, along
with a Danish type Cc second - this model is supplied
by Heljan.

Soon to be released are the ‘Corbellini’ centre entrance short bogie
coaches in both Epoch III brown and Epoch IV
grey (above) as announced last year.

Two of the 1936 Cl35000 long wheelbase four-wheelers make a twin pack in Epoch
III castano (dark brown) livery (above).
The 1937 Bz32000 second on type 31 bogies is to be produced in Jugoslavian Epoch
IV green livery, with a choice of two numbers.
ViTrains
There will be further runs
of the older FS double-deck stock in both the
original and current liveries, sold in sets
of three (driving trailer and two seconds) and
separately. The French livery versions, in original
SNCF grey & orange and current TER blue & grey, along
with the ‘Centre’ grey-white-red
and ‘Ile de France’ blue-white-red,
are still noted as new.

There
was no sign of the announced FS Aln668 bogie
diesel railcar in three liveries (two-tone
brown, blue-white-red, and green & yellow),
but the Spanish class 250 Co-Co electric
was on show and is apparently available; three
liveries are listed - blue & yellow (above),
brown & beige
(below), and contemporary grey & yellow
(below lower).

ViTrains have also completed a commission exclusively for The Hobby Company
catering for the British market, a 4mm scale
model of the class 37/4, in various liveries/numbers/names.
Their next major project will take them to yet another country, with the Belgian
series 16 four-sys-tem Bo-Bo electric. Only
eight of these machines were built in 1966 (as
class 160) by ACEC and Brugeois & Nivelles,
but they have worked as far afield as Paris,
Dortmund, Köln, and even Spiez; five are
still in service. Although the leaflet has only
a drawing and prototype photo, a first master
of the body shell was on show (below). Six livery/number
combinations are envisaged.

The next proposal widens the scope even more, with the Stadler GT2/6 articulated
railcar. This has the power unit in the short
central section, and electric and diesel variants
have been built. ViTrains list Italian diesel
(Alto Adige), Swiss electric (Thurbo), and Dutch
diesel (Arriva) possibilities, illustrated with
official prototype pictures.
The electric version of the ‘Minuetto’ railcar is now available
in GTT (Gruppo Torinese Trasporti) livery (above)
while its diesel counterpart has gained Provincia
Autonomia di Trento markings (below).

Bemo
The highly detailed limited edition Metal Collection model of the Ed2x2/2 0-4-4-0
Mallet tanks supplied by Maffei from 1891 to
the Swiss Central Railway (SCB) is now available
(below).
The next Metal Collection project is for the Gotthard Xrotm100 rotary snowplough,
built in 1896 by Henschel under licence from
the Leslie company in America. It served regularly
until 1975, and even then had to be kept in
reserve until 1982 as no diesel unit was available
on the north ramp. It was then transferred to
the transport museum in Lucerne. In model form
the rotary blades are driven by a five-pole
motor, and a decoder socket is provided. Like
the prototype, it is not self-propelled.
The DB BR624 diesel railcar set and 924 intermediate
coach are to be produced in Epoch IV blue & beige
livery.
The RS-1 RegioShuttle diesel railcar will be offered as used by the Ortenau-S-Bahn,
a subsidiary of the SWEG operating various lines
in south-west Germany. Although a major user
of these railcars, their initial deliveries
had larger air-conditioning units, so could
not be accurately represented by the regular
model, but the last batch of six used the standard
fitting, and the new model will depict one of
these, VT531 Alpirsbach. It will also be offered
in N.
Kato/Hobbytrain
Lemke have released the limited edition model of the Kruckenberg SVT 137 155
high speed railcar set, built by Westwaggon
in 1938 using aircraft fuselage technology,
which was effectively the forerunner of all
subsequent DRG high speed railcar designs.
In HO as in N there will be further versions of the Fliegende Hamburger twin
unit articulated high speed diesel railcars
- in DRG Epoch II cream & violet as SVT877 (below)
and in DB Epoch IIIa wine red as VT04.1.

Hobbytrain are still working on models of the DB 26.4 metre long experimental double-deck stock of 1951, to be sold in sets of
three. Both Epoch IIIa steel blue and Epoch
IIIb chrome-dioxide green versions are offered;
a sample of the latter without markings was
shown but could not be photographed.
In the tram range, the familiar Düwag four-wheeler appears with two trailers
in München blue & white and in ‘Martini’ advertising
livery.
A pair of Deutsche Post trams (in model form one powered, one dummy) dating
from 1949/50, with five shutters each side protecting
the load area, is also planned.
A new development is the K4000 low floor articulated tram, in model form powered
by two motors, as used by the KVB in Köln
and decorated with colourful ‘Kölner
Zucker’ advertising.
This
company is well-known to American modellers
for a range of fine steam and diesel locos,
so their first European offering, announced
some two years ago, has been eagerly awaited.
The DB BR01 Pacific, with original boiler
and small Witte smoke deflectors, is now
being delivered (above). There are two variants,
with and without front skirts, and two different
numbers, both in Epoch IIIb markings. Two-rail
DC and three-rail AC options are offered,
and either can also be obtained with a LokSound™ digital
decoder by ESU fitted. Examples were displayed
and demonstrated on the ESU stand - they
looked good, ran well, and sounded very
convincing. We hope to be able to review
a sample fully in due course.
Mehano
Mehano continue to develop their range, announcing a number of interesting new
models, though most are initially illustrated
with prototype pictures, and no delivery dates
are given.
First is the Vossloh G1700 Bo-Bo diesel as SBB Cargo (two styles) and BLS Am843, ÖBB
2070, CFL 1700, MRCE, HGK, and Acerealia.
The previously announced MaK 1206 is still awaited - ACTS (old and new liveries),
ERS, E+H, HGK, LTE (red), WLE, RAG, Rail4Chem
(two numbers), CFL series 1500 (two numbers),
and SNCF 461000 in ‘Fret’ green
(two numbers) are now listed.
The new SNCF BB475000 Bo-Bo diesel by Alstom is also heralded, in ‘Fret’ green.
Progress is being made on the SNCB/NMBS class 26 Bo-Bo electric, and painted
body shell mouldings were shown (below). No
fewer than eleven numbers in four colour schemes
(original green, blue with yellow trim, and
two types of yellow with blue trim) are planned.

A sample was also shown of the Alstom SNCB/NMBS
class 41 diesel multiple unit, in modern grey
livery with red doors and warning yellow ends
(above); there will be a choice of
four numbers.

The Alstom LINT 41 diesel railcar, though shown as new, is believed to have
just been released - versions shown include
DBAG, Nord West Bahn (above), Vectus,
Syntus (for Holland, with two numbers listed,
below), and Alstom demonstrator.

There will be a new version of the popular Bombardier ‘Blue Tiger’ in ‘hvle’ grey
with orange trim, but no new versions of the
Class 66 or the Vossloh G2000 are planned this
year, though the Siemens EuroSprinter Bo-Bo
electric will be backdated to the original silver & pink
as 127 001, and the ICE3 will get NS markings.
This model is still marketed as a four-car pack,
and there is no news of extra intermediate cars.
All these are Prestige models, and are offered in DC, AC, digital, and sound-equipped
versions (using a LokSound™ decoder by
ESU).

In the Hobby range, new is a Krupp-built BR210 B-B diesel (above), with three
DB numbers (one described as ‘grey’,
and one given as a 218) plus one private
operator, EVB, as 420 01 in red with cream
trim. The model does not look as toy-like
as the Hobby offering of the V160.
Also new in the Hobby range are two different packs of three intermediate coaches
for the SNCF TGV Duplex; the unit on display
had unpainted test shots of the body shells.
The planned Sggmrss90 articulated twin unit container flat is still awaited,
but the range of versions for different authentic
users has expanded considerably - three DB, three AAE, four WLE (all with ‘Warsteiner’ containers),
three ERS (with ‘Maersk Sealand’, ‘Nedlloyd’, ‘P&O’,
and ‘Cosco’ containers), three SNCB/Touax
(‘Cosco’, ‘Hapag Lloyd’, ‘Evergreen’, ‘CMA-CGM’,
and ‘China Shipping’), three DLC
(‘MSC’, ‘Triton’, ‘Seaco’),
three ACTS (‘MSC’, ‘P&O’, ‘China
Shipping’, ‘Evergreen’, and ‘K
Line’), and three Rail4Chem (‘China
Shipping’, ‘Cosco’, ‘CMACGM’, ‘Hapag
Lloyd’, and ‘K Line’).
There are to be new versions of freight vehicles in the Hobby range: Eaos bogie
open in either red-brown or DB Cargo traffic
red; Kbs four-wheel low-side with side stakes
(three numbers); and the Ibbhs long wheelbase
four-wheel refrigerated van in three liveries,
including one lettered for ‘Transthermos’.
The MaK GDT bogie diesel
railcar (see CM September 2006) as used by
the Ost Hannoversche Eisenbahn (OHE) is to
be offered in the autumn in a Mittelweserbahn
(MWB) blue & white
version.
The next project will be the Deutz twin engined centre cab DG2000 C-C diesel
hydraulics which the OHE placed in service
in the early 1960s; for many years the 108
tonne 18 metre long machines were the most
powerful diesels used by a German private
operator.
The model will have a precision motor driving all axles, milled metal chassis,
and plastic body, with many added details.
Delivery is not expected until autumn 2008.
Näumburg
Their metal-bodied model
of the DB BR517 ‘Limburg cigar’ battery
electric railcar, dating from 1952, has been
a success and the matching BR817 driving trailer
should become available this year. The Epoch
III (ETA175/ESA176) variants (with either
two or three headlights) and the preserved
example (with the option of a dummy version)
are still awaited, until orders reach the
required quantity. The bias to Epoch IV has
prompted them to offer the pair in blue & beige
(above), although this livery was never
actually applied to the prototypes
The
next project is the DB VT92.5 single unit
diesel railcar, built in 1951 as the forerunner
of the VT08 and VT12 designs, although fitted
with coupling gear so it was capable of towing.
It was ultimately assigned as a works vehicle
to Aw Nürnberg. Both
Epoch III brown & beige and IV (red & black,
as BR692) forms are planned.
They are also working on the SNCF Y9100 (later Y51100) four-wheel diesels, 88
of which were built between 11953 and 1957.
In 1956, ten passed to the DB through the
Saar and were classified V45, later BR245.
They remained in use, mostly as works shunters,
until 1978. The model will be mostly metal,
with a flywheel-fitted motor, LED lighting,
and decoder socket. French Epoch III and IV
versions are planned, but German Epoch IV
only (even though the model in the leaflet
illustration is a V45!).

Previously known for detailed wagon kits in brass or laser-cut wood, this French
specialist is launching a range of ready-to-run
plastic bodied wagons, with cast metal chassis
and close-coupling.
First is a type D four-wheel fourgon, the most common French freight type, introduced
from 1949 and in use until the 1980s; some survived,
relegated to work train duties. The model (above)
will have sliding doors, interior detail, and
a hand-painted metal crew figure. It can be
expected in the second quarter, in three versions
- Epoch III brown, Epoch III red-brown, and
Epoch IV red-brown.

Next will be an Arbel type MK or MKH four-wheel hopper for coke or coal, placed
in service in the 1950s and still in traffic
(above). Three versions should arrive in the
third quarter.
Close behind will be a four-wheel covered grain hopper (above), in at least
two finishes.
The kits have not been forgotten. In the second quarter there should be a pack
of three vans dating from around 1900 representing
old French companies - a type K from the Est,
a type Ksu of 10 tonnes, and a P.O. parcels van.
The kits are wood with metal parts, just like
the real thing; sandpaper serves as the tarpaper
roof. RP25 profile wheels can be requested to
replace the standard NEM.
Looking ahead, there will be brass kits for the second series of Prussian ‘Breslau’ steel
high-sided open wagons, with longer wheelbase
and double doors, with and without brake house.
(The 1903 original is already offered.)
Further off, the Wendel type TT bogie hopper wagon is to be the subject of a
brass kit.
To fit onto the chassis of a BR80 or BR89 0-6-0T, Makette are developing a resin
body kit with whitemetal and etched nickel-silver
details for the Krupp ‘Knapsack’ standard
industrial steam loco (below), based on an example
from 1961.
KombiModell
The highly detailed model of
the Sdggmrs(s) bogie articulated multi-purpose
flat wagon, with an exact working representation
of the Talbot linkage as per prototype, designed
to work on 358mm radius curves, should soon
be ready. The Ahaus Alstätter Eisenbahn wagon
leasing operation now has over a thousand of these
T2000 104' ‘Megapack’ vehicles in
service. The model is of combined metal and
plastic construction, and also has fully working
container clips. Two bogie types are offered,
DRSS or Y25, as per prototype. The model can
be supplied with RP25-88 wheels in place of
NEM if required. Several numbers in both Kombiverkehr
and AAE markings will be available.

The next projects, continuing the intermodal theme, are the Sggns 73' long fish-belly
bogie container flat used by HUPAC and Kombiverkehr
(below), and the Sdgns(s) type T4 multi-purpose
bogie flat used by HUPAC to carry large trailers
of up to 60', the only wagon with this capacity
thanks to its welded trough construction (above).
The slightly longer T4.1 (which accommodates the
mounting point for articulated lorry trailers) will
also be produced. Advance samples were on show.

New this year from these Dutch
specialists is the NS2600 ‘de Beel’ diesel,
either as a kit or ready assembled in either
blue or red (above). The body is resin, with
vacuum-formed flush glazing, and the frame and
detail parts cast whitemetal. Drive components
are from Athearn (we believe), with LEDs for
lighting.
Also new is a kit for the bogie flat wagon that carries the balance weights
for the Kirov KRC 1200 rail mounted crane, as
modelled by Kibri (below).

Also
still listed as new (but seen before) is a model
of the Plasser & Theurer
UFN 120 track machine, available either as a
kit or assembled.
